Botched permanent makeup, a colour that turned, an old tattoo? Saline removal gently extracts the pigment over time — effective on every colour, ideal for correcting brows, lips and eyeliner before a fresh application.

Duration

Sessions
3+ sessions
Healing
6 to 8 wk between sessions
Longevity
permanent result
- 1
Consultation & assessment
We assess the area, the age and type of pigment, then set a realistic goal together.
- 2
Prep & numbing
The area is cleansed and a topical anaesthetic applied for your comfort.
- 3
Extraction session (saline)
Saline solution is applied with the dermograph; by osmosis it draws the pigment to the surface.
- 4
Healing & scab
A scab forms and lifts out some pigment as it falls — never pick it.
- 5
Follow-up sessions
Repeated every 6 to 8 weeks until the desired result.
Aftercare
- Keep the area clean and dry for ~3 days (no water, spa or exercise).
- Don't pick the scab — let it fall off on its own.
- Protect the area strictly from the sun.
- Moisturize once the scabs have fallen to prevent marks.
Good to know
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with anticoagulants, uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders, chemotherapy or Accutane, or an active skin condition on the area.
Touch-up prices vary by the time since the initial procedure. Pricing confirmed at your personalized consultation.
Frequently asked questions
How many sessions are needed?
At least 3 for permanent makeup (sometimes 2 to 5), spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart.
Does it remove all the pigment?
Removal can be complete or partial; saline works on every colour, often to correct or allow a fresh application.
Does it hurt?
Moderate discomfort, reduced by an anaesthetic; generally less painful than laser.
Will it leave a scar?
The risk is low if aftercare is followed — above all, don't pick the scabs.
